finished #kimishinu 's anime adaptation. i'm not sure how else to describe it than as one of the most confused shows i've still ended up enjoying recently. i'm wondering how much was lost in adaptation from the source material, particularly wrt our main couple.

i want to write more about it but i'm honestly not sure where to start... tl;dr kimishinu has a lot of really compelling *themes and moments,* but it's hard to get over the fact that everything between Sheena and Mimi is less interesting than our supporting characters of Seiran and Ari.

Gdi, I always saw people say Makoto. I'll change it for the first day post.
And I tried to go with what people colloquially call the work. Like, people say Kimishinu not Love You Till Your Dying Day. Most people I know just call it Bang Dream: Mewtype, so I put that down. Maybe I'll change it.

My pick for anime of the summer. Fantastic adaptation. I don't think I have any deep thoughts, but I just love how much humanity all the girls including the teachers have!

no desire to buy it though (I'm not *that* into KimiShinu), and definitely not at that price
but it's cute and a pleasant surprise, and affection for KimiShinu has lodged itself inside of me despite some reservations, so it cheers me up to see it

the $200 kimishinu figure
75 pages might seem like a lot for one episode but kimishinu ep 1 drew from 70 pages of content from two chapters and even added an original scene. these chapters are SHORT.
some cuts or padding might be needed here and there but i think narratively this works best

There was so much yuri last season I felt the need to talk about not only one but two yuri anime

KimiShinu.
I wanted to like this a lot more than I did. I just didn't really care for Sheena or Mimi that much. Ari and Seiran were the stars of the show to me, but as the side couple, they didn't get nearly the screentime I would have preferred

159. You and I Are Polar Opposites Season 2 (sub & dub)
Cinema. This is comfort anime infused with a diabetic amount of sweetness. These characters were just a joy to watch as they grew as individuals and as pairs. The Taira/Azuma arc was the best part.

With how many shows are out there, perhaps yuri Monday should be more than once a week, but for now we have another episode of Kimishinu that shows what seems like acceptance from Ari and a level of growing up from Sheena. Meanwhile Mimi has her own slow development. youtu.be/hNZbynuf8Yc #yuri #GL

With Kimishinu over I wonder what Yuri-hime series will be next for anime (if there's not just a big gap). Summer When You Were There would make a good complete story. Inkya Gal could be pitched as a distinctive sol series. Asumi is possible but unfortunately as a low quality Deregula sort of thing.

I'm being introduced to Assault Lily Bouquet and we just hit episode seven and that particular introduction
now that we've firmly established that War Crime School is bad with KimiShinu, it's a light-hearted combat school!
it feels reminiscent of Girl Who Wants to Be / Ought to Be a Hero
