I am really reeling from the way the New Zealand government is giving away the game by stating loudly that “AI will replace teachers”

NZ unions must act on this ASAP; I expect that (especially with John “sell everything nz owns to make a quick buck” Key on board) this is the beginning of the privatisation and selloff of nz education.
Or; huge wealth transfer from working class kiwi teachers (who they’ll fire) to US tech oligarchs

They think that it’ll replace marking within 3 years … that’s a laugh … the best LLM’s are still only maybe 73% accurate and not exactly improving fast.
