Cannot fathom how I ever did in-person voting in the years before CA started universal mail-in. That ballot is a Cheesecake Factory menu. If you procrastinated too long, the DSA & KnockLA voter guides are your friend!

I haven't read through my favorite ballot analysis site yet though (KnockLA).

Things you get in the mail are best straight-to-trash.
But KnockLA is pretty solid, both statewide & for the LA region, down to the judges races:

#LosAngeles: Ballots are out, and the KnockLA Voter Guide is once again reliably chronicling the implications of your potential vote.

And #California: vote YES on Proposition 40, and NO on Propositions 41 & 42; the latter are weaseldick attempts at negating the tax on billionaires.

The DSA and KnockLA voter guides here in California also recommended people they didn't fully endorse or love, and even suggested not voting for some seats. Does that make them full of shit too? You seem really fucking annoying and I've only just now learned you exist. Sad development for me.

ett lifehack jag kom på är att om man har ett matchande set så kan man bara knöckla ihop påslakanet och stoppa det in i örngottet

LA Times literally did this on the story that got them a Pulitzer (LA Fed Tapes). KnockLA had been the ones to find the upload, reported, and published before the Times even had an idea of what was happening.

They never once acknowledged Knock.

An essay like that sounds really vital! I mostly know publications local to LA, but KnockLA has a pretty national reach and would probably publish something like this

@misterwixard.bsky.social has assembled a great spreadsheet with all the LA voter guides. You can also go to file and "make a copy" if you want to move columns to put guides next to each other to compare, which I did with KnockLA and Progressive Voters Guide.

That org totally sucks but I still voted against the prop. I looked at the recs from LAT, SAJE, VoteForward, the League of Women voters, KnockLA, and the DSA, and was pleasantly surprised by how much unanimity there was this time around.

Rae's social media team on here repeatedly lied and claimed she supported sb79.

And recently she's pushed left-nimby anti-market tropes.

So take any upzoning references in that context.

Agree KnockLA makes no sense, esp. in implication that Raman is libertarian.

And they have the same solution – permanent affordable housing.

Trickle down economics is a fallacy. The market cannot provide affordable housing. Prices are only going up, driving people into homelessness, or out of the city entirely.
