how in the fuck is the Kolmogorov complexity of a whole-ass MUSIC VIDEO under 64k

Sorry, minimum description length. not quite Kolmogorov complexity here because that allows a program to do any amount of work, which will mean that simple (like game of life) programs can get you huge complexity. bounding the work might let you recover something interesting

You're describing something like Kolmogorov complexity applied to the generative structure of language and interaction—with an important twist: you're not just compressing text.

You're learning to predict the process that produces it.

Actually for me you can get it down to an eyeroll and a tired sigh.

Data were analyzed using Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Levene's test, the Lambda-Wilks test, Homogeneity of regression slope and Bonferroni in SPSS 23 (0.05).

RESULTS: The findings showed that EFT and CR were effective in improving cognitive and emotional components (P < 0.05). (🧵 5/7)

Yet another attempt at AI alignment with lofty ambition.

If a software program can predict the future, it can choose those pathways that lead to low entropy and high Kolmogorov complexity.

Who knew techies would so elegantly solve all of ethics?

Wow never heard of him! I should read more!! Thanks!

I "love" how his page says "he lived with Kolmogorov and they were gay", while Kolmogorov's page says "He was married with kids and had friends among fellow mathematicians". Russians guard their heroes.

By a general diagonal argument (or in the same vein, Ramsey stuff) regularities are inevitable. Most will still be too Kolmogorov complex to be practically meaningful
Things are easily interpretable once you interpret them
afaict the argument of this essay is basically “we thought interpretability is hard bc it looked like one neuron was encoding both <green & observed before t> and <blue & observed after t>, but actually once you realize it’s encoding <grue> interpretation becomes super simple!”

時系列データのノイズ処理にはいつも悩まされるので、物理の仕組みをAIに組み込む手法は筋が良いと感じる。実務で当たり前になるまで、しばらくかかりそうだ。

ZENO: Nonlinear filtering with Zakai Equation Neural Operators
State inference and parameter learning for nonlinear filters is a core computation for scientific machine learning with varied applications in engineering and neuroscience. The unnormalized filtering distribution is governed by the Zakai equation, a stochastic partial differential equation (SPDE) that combines the forward Kolmogorov operator (known as the Fokker-Planck equation) with observed likelihood updates. Although solving these high-dimensional SPDEs is often impossible analytically and intractable numerically, advances in operator learning and physics-informed machine learning have made it feasible. Harnessing these advances, we introduce the Zakai Equation Neural Operator (ZENO), a model that optimizes a neural operator against a Zakai Equation based physics-informed loss to approximate the exact unnormalized filtering distribution for latent stochastic dynamical systems. We use this ZENO-inferred posterior distribution in an expectation-maximization (EM) framework to perform

yes, I think that's a decent objection

however I think "all possible computations are real" is a decent prior for base reality (zero kolmogorov complexity; all other realities require more specification), which leads directly to Everett-like physics anyway
