#KotFM
Not to take anything away from RDJ’s performance in Oppenheimer which is, admittedly, really good but it’s not in the same realm as De Niro in KOTFM.

This is especially poignant if you read the epilogue of KOTFM, which is all about the dangers of forgetting

the real reason cinema was back was kotfm

To say Scorsese hasn’t made anything good this century???
Tarantino has never made anything as funny and clever and well crafted as The Wolf of Wall Street or as thoughtful as KOTFM. Fuck that guy.

Early career: Raging Bull
Mid career: Heat
Later career: KOTFM

I wanted to beat his ass for KOTFM. That’s how you know he acted his ass off.
Without saying Raging Bull, fav Robert De Niro Film?

KotFM ist der örtliche Radiosender von Kotdrang an der Gurk. Eine Eltern haben da ein Ferienhaus und hören KotFM immer beim kochen.

i don't think DeNiro's character in KotFM is particularly racist! he genuinely does not seem to harbor any real ill will towards the people he is systematically murdering to steal their property.

Ist KotFM die von Scorcesse intendiere Abkürzung?
July 25, 2024 at 10:09 AM
yeah I rewatched fairly recently and it just fails at its job lol, like the ratio of "this guy's life rules" to "this is morally reprehensible" is so skewed. you kind of wonder if marty felt this and severely overcorrected for KOTFM

I have to commend Marty for approaching KotFM like a gangster movie, because what the US govt and its enforcers did to native communities is not some ancient original sin (*paging Noah Smith*) but a relatively recent form of brutal criminal enterprise
it’s kind of wild that with each successive gangster movie he makes, he inches closer and closer to just literally talking to the camera and spelling out his contempt for the characters

KOTFM, Zone of Interest, No Other Land, Red Rooms, Nope, The Boy and the Heron, I Saw the TV Glow, Drive My Car are my rotating list I think.

There's a tiny beat in KotFM where DeNiro's character expresses what seems like genuine consternation about Tulsa in the middle of personally murdering a bunch of Osage for money

He finally got it through with The Irishman and KotFM at least, although people thought the former was too boring because it lacked the big party scenes.
June 20, 2026 at 5:58 PM
The fact that KotFM is not on physical is a crime against humanity
November 12, 2025 at 5:04 PM
He sees how De Niro ends up in Irishman/KotFM and gets worried about how he is gonna end up just like that (is my assumption anyways)

Revu kotfm

I didn’t mention in it here but shoutout to De Niro for his performance in KOTFM. I wasn’t sure he has that in him anymore but holy shit did he ever. defector.com/the-best-thi...

holy shit I just clocked that that's Scott Shepherd as the reporter (the "smug sonofabitch" CIA man in BRIDGE OF SPIES; Byron Burkhart in KOTFM)

The thing about KOTFM for me is that it helps identify the thread running through his recent work, from Silence to The Irishman to this.

Looking forward to seeing Coyote Vs. Acme next year and (silently) cheering when I see this one shot the same way I did for this one shot from Killers of the Flower Moon.
