Instead of offending the Kreetassans by peeing on their sacred tree, Porthoad offends them by eating some kind of bug that they view as integral to their ecosystem which nearly poison him. Kreetassans have never even heard of a human that cares so much about a toad.

(2/3) I used to be put off by the repeated sight of Archer & Trip enclosed in the gooey, squelchy webbing of the alien. But beyond that was an engaging story about communication difficulties & sensitivities: between the crew & the Kreetassans, Hoshi & T’Pol, & a complex, very strange lifeform.
