There was also a point where they were planning to get the Kurds to do a ground invasion of Iran and it didn't occur to them that the Kurds might just say "Nah don't feel like doing that"

Speaking of Kurds, I'm deep in this book written by the brilliant Aliza Marcus. It's focus is on Turkish and Syrian Kurds and on the PKK. It's my kind of book: Information dense and well written. Strong recommend. Link here: link.amazon/B0iaI2VUa.

And as others pointed out, we repeatedly break our promises to our own friends like the Afghan translators and the Kurds.

The Kurds could not be contacted.

Exactly my thought.
Same with the Kurds or any other number of allies we’ve betrayed.

Somewhat hypocritical isn't it? Didn't they persecute the Kurds? Anyway, let's get the fucker!

When are the Turks going to answer for their genocide of Armenians, Greeks, and Assyrians, as well as their continuing oppression of the Kurds?

Particularly given that IIRC Trump sold out the Kurds in his first term.

Red alert for all Kurds in New York City

I remember when I thought that abandoning the Kurds was as low as we could go. At least the Kurds could fight against terrible odds.

It wasn't that really.
It was the part about kurds, freedom of the judicial system, election freedom being attacked, corruption, core values of EU that was not met.
It is just question of time before we get a muslim EU member.

They also seem to have all universally forgotten what we did to the Kurds after the first Gulf War, a thing I suspect nobody there has forgotten.

Yeah the Kurds and Azerbaijan might participate because they don't like Iran, but probably only if the US pays them. And even then, if there's money to be made on contraband nobody says no.

Oh, the country that has been trying to genocide the Kurds. Cool! 🙄

The Kurds Aren’t a 'Security Threat' — They’re the Ones Being Attacked

"President Erdoğan has pushed Sweden and Finland to crack down on Kurdish groups in exchange for NATO membership. He cites his country’s 'legitimate security concerns' — but it’s the long-oppressed Kurds who have to fear" (2022)

Hard to believe this is a real post from Centcom. But, if it is, after what we have witnessed in the last couple of years and in the previous Trump admin (remember the Kurds), no one who has been paying attention and could possibly have that info will step forward.

yeah I honestly kinda get it

but even beyond Atatürk they're deranged over stuff like the Armenian genocide or the Kurds, even the normal ones

Someone showed me videos of the Andre Tate fanboys protesting after their precious idol got locked up for human trafficking, and it unironically is hilarious to see those dweebs just randomly starting to do push-ups.
Like, imagine if diaspora Kurds would have done push-ups when Öcalan was arrested.
