This is what 650 hPa LCLs look like 😅

Hola scientific bluesky community! Did it ever happen to anyone that you wanted to generate (EBV-based) B-LCLs (starting from PBMCs) and "by accident" T-LCLs grew out, so T cells instead of B cells? We have a curious setting in which we observe this. Does this just stochastically occur?

Latest ACARS and HRRR forecast soundings for Nashville show a cap in place below 600mb and kinda high LCLs. Dangerous storms are not likely this afternoon. Not impossible, but not likely.

1) A small in-depth study found B-cells from ME/CFS patients to have more lipids. The authors write:"To our surprise, ME/CFS LCLs exhibited an accumulation of lipids including fatty acids"

This could indicate a metabolic deficit or differences in B-cell signalling and receptors

Harvested some whopper hailstones and saw a nice occlusion in far eastern CO/KS today, despite sky high LCLs. Saw the suspect dust swirl as well…a bit more moisture and GLD would have been in trouble! #COwx #kswx

Going to give the Palmer Divide a go tomorrow. < 1 hour from home, familiar with the road network, beautiful scenery, good company, and I like the low-level moisture/low LCLs and sufficient deep-layer shear.

Tornado-driven Moderate Risk issued. The tornado risk should peak around and in the few hours after sunset, as low-level hodographs enlarge significantly (compare 21Z and 00Z) and LCLs lower

Is it possible that tornadoes form from the easiest source of vertical vorticity to be stretched by an updraft? Traditional forecast parameters, like LL shear and low LCLs still prevent excessive outflow and should work here too. 2/

I'm currently at LCLS in Stanford, anyone got a lead on where I might find a #SynchrotonMug to add to my collection? I know they exist. I've seen pictures!

I usually stop storm chasing when the temperatures get out of the 70s due to being too hot and bad LCLs

I am currently not chasing

Shout out to the LCLs being too high and saving the city

Given the recent heating and some low-level moisture advection overnight, there is quite a favorable parameter space for tornadoes over the Palmer Divide. Sufficient deep-layer shear, low-level storm relative helicity, and low LCLs combined with some instability (thanks to the heating).

Must be nice to have LCLs 5 miles high

No wonder that is such a photogenic tornado/storm. LCLs ~1400m (around the mean per tornado climo). Sounding from North Platte at 20Z showing 3800 J/Kg MLCAPE. Supercell appears to be anchored to the stationary front in a region of mid-upper 60F dewpoints.

Consistent forecasts of enhanced #supercell potential for parts of E Germany. You can see three model runs (09, 12, 15 UTC) ICON-D2 EPS, ensemble max of UH tracks, respectively. In addition a (storm biased) hodo. Having LCLS often lower 1000 m an enhanced #tornado potential is present.
