World’s largest - by ~3X - battery cell at 2,710 Ah by BYD. The unit is warranted for 10,000 cycles at 70% of original capacity. Inserts into a 14.5 MWh battery container.
At 1 cycle/day, a 27 year product, 1X 13.6 year product.
BYD says the effective levelized cost of storage is 1.4¢/kWh.

At $75 for a 12-foot purchase, current prices are $6.25/skelfoot. Value investors should expect BUY ratings from most trading houses when prices fall between $5-5.50/skelfoot, however these may be inventory limited. Levelized Cost of Skeleton (LCOS) values are approaching 52-week minimums.

The problem is that the standard LCOS (levelized cost of skeleton) equation doesn’t account for non-market benefits and positive externalities, and uses a private discount rate that is higher than the socially optimum rate. That is why, in IRA2, the govt should amend Sec. 45Y to include skeletons.
The knowledge that the giant skeletons can cost $400 has shaken me to my core. That’s not a decoration, that’s a major fixed capital investment
