Remembering June Lockhart BOTD (1925-2025), best known as America's TV mom in both "Lost in Space" and "Lassie" in the late '50s and '60s.
Equally important, she was standing up for LGBTQ+ rights and against homophobia long before others in Hollywood would dare to.

My fellow cis folks,

The FCC is asking Americans to submit comments about whether the TV Oversight Management Board (TVOMB) should create new TV ratings to alert viewers to trans/gender content.

Time to be an ally and tell the FCC absolutely the fuck not. It takes five minutes to do.

I decided if they could use the slippery slope argument, so could I. What's next, a label for content that includes POC? Women? Thank you, @authorkaraj.bsky.social, for teaching me about the Comstock laws because I threw those in my comment too.

Today is the last day to comment to the FCC that LGBTQIA2S+ names, stories, identities don't need a warning label. This new potential rulemaking is an attempt at criminalizing the mere fact of being trans or otherwise queer, in the name of discrimination, bigotry, and persecution. Tell them no, now.

7. If networks bow to this pressure, the impact on LGBTQ+ programming could be enormous. Transgender and nonbinary characters in children's television are already vanishingly rare—GLAAD's most recent report found just one transgender character on all of broadcast television.
Summary of Broadcast Findings – Where We Are on TV 2024-2025 | GLAAD
On the five broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, The CW, FOX, and NBC), GLAAD counted 432 series regulars on 66 primetime scripted series for the 2024-25 television season.
