I can’t believe how few conversations about the uses of LLMs seem to incorporate this fact. It is not a knowledge or understanding machine! It is a thing-saying machine!

But ultimately, AI discourse broadly is about productized chatbots, LLMs, GANs, and "agents" (a vague term that generally means 'LLMs eating each other's shit'). When you try to drag random ML tools being used into it you're just carrying water for the AI industry.
