If SECNAV follows through on his decision to devote the existing non-committed shipbuilding capacity to LSMs and then frigates, there’s simply no place to build these ships. But R&D work on the weapons can still continue.

Don't think it's just building products we sell to the U.S. It's a plethora of criticals such as oil, gas, electricity, lumber, vehicles and vehicle parts, paper products, iron, steel and other metals. And much more.

That is one of the tougher and more nuanced discussions I haven't seen happen wrt the Marines and the new landing ships. The USN thinks it is a bit too much for USMC to want full 3-ship ARG/MEUs formations AND all the LSMs on earth. Especially as the LSMs continue to increase in price.

Yes, you can code a chatbot or tools around them that use these LSMs to perform statistically probable actions for a given input vector, but that's really it.

These LSMs (or LLMs in this case) aren't going to magically 'do' bloody anything. They're not sentient. They don't have personalities, dreams or hopes or desires to annihilate humanity.
They're a statistical model that compresses a dataset into a large probability vector space. That's all.
