I spoke with a family friend yesterday & found out that the Valley Manor LTCH in Barry's Bay is in lockdown due to another COVID outbreak.
When Mum was there, they wouldn't let me enter with my respirator mask & forced me to wear their blue baggy.

When Mum was in a LTCH, there was a handful of elderly but not infirm who lived there. I assumed it was because it was price-controlled.
I couldn't imagine being surrounded by dementia patients and the smell of urine and feces, but people are driven to these extremes.

I came close to that once at Mum's LTCH when I argued that my N95 was safer then their semi-useless surgical masks. It's so frustrating arguing logic and common sense with people who have neither. They just blindly insist on following their 'rules.'

There are 3 sections in mom's LTCH. The other one(s?) had covid last week. Now someone in her section has covid. ☹️ I wonder if the staff are wearing masks in her section now? They weren't last week.

Been there, got the t-shirt. Mum's LTCH insisted on procedural masks, even though I was wearing an N95. I tried explaining that they're not protecting staff or residents. They were getting ready to toss me out, so I put theirs on top of mine & later removed theirs once inside. So stupid.
