#LWCF
For 60 years, the Land and Water Conservation Fund has protected parks, forests and wildlife habitat all without costing taxpayers anything.

But now a new federal order will limit LWCF funding and create roadblocks for vital projects.

Urge Congress to defend #LWCF. ➡️ https://nature.ly/46GR5e8

5 years ago, we passed the Great American Outdoors Act and permanently funded the LWCF.

Today, we’re seeing the results: the Achenbach Canyon property is now public land—thanks to LWCF Recreation Access funds. Improving access to OUR public lands is exactly why we fought for it.

For over 60 years, the Land and Water Conservation Fund has created parks to enjoy, jobs and outdoor recreation opportunities. But now the administration has taken action to limit LWCF.

ACT NOW to tell Congress to defend LWCF and protect our lands and waters.

Considering that NPS' budget request last year was $5B, that's an INCREDIBLE deal. ~$15 per visit

Important to note their budget includes mandatory (e.g. LWCF) approps with revenue from bespoke sources (oil and gas royalties, etc), and ~$300M in entrance fees so a lot doesn't come from taxpayers
There were a record 331.9 million recreation visits to U.S. National Parks and properties in calendar year 2024. Almost one per person (U.S. pop 340 million). In case anyone was thinking they weren't popular and no one would notice/care if they were gutted. www.nps.gov/subjects/soc...

America's public lands have a secret ally: the Land and Water Conservation Fund.

Many people have never heard of LWCF, but it helps protect parks, trails, forests and historic sites nationwide. Tell Congress to defend this critical program: https://nature.ly/4vrG2zX

5 years ago today the Great American Outdoors Act was passed to help protect U.S. landscapes, create jobs and expand outdoor recreation across the country. But now, this funding is under threat.

Over the last several years, Jim helped lead key fights for public lands including the major fight to permanently reauthorize LWCF (Land and Water Conservation Fund). His voice was critical to showing the economic value of public lands. (4/5)

The Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) is under attack.
For 60+ years, LWCF has protected nature & expanded recreation for all—fueling a $1.2T outdoor economy & 5M jobs. Now, grant freezes threaten conservation & public lands.

🚨YOSEMITE SCAM🚨

Trump’s Interior Dept. is trying to use the Land and Water Conservation Fund to carve up Yosemite National Park and sell off land for private development.

Why? So a rich guy can have private road access.

This is totally outrageous, and an insult to the spirit of the LWCF.
Trump Administration Looks to Give a Swath of Yosemite to a Developer
The proposed land swap would allow easy access to the crown jewel of the national park system. Democrats and former Park Service officials are incensed.

YOU CAN HELP.

Conservation is generally bipartisan, although support is for different reasons. Work with your local elected officials and state officials to support any land acquisitions in your area— this isn’t great now required.

Work with the LWCF coalition to fight this order.

For the past 5 years, #LWCF funding provided by the Great American Outdoors Act has increased hunting & fishing access across the nation without using taxpayer dollars but now the Dept of the Interior is trying to block #LWCF projects with an damaging secretarial order.

MT Congressman Steve Daines only seems interested in LWCF when there is an opportunity for publicity. What about when the fund is being cut by the millions?
