A joint PR from Health & Infrastructure today boasts $330m for rural health capital funding. $170m is lease costs for Mountview, $80m for LaCrete. Most of the rest is evaluation/ planning funding, to be split across more than 20 communities that have chronic closures. It doesn't stretch very far.

My research plots were ALL OVER northern Alberta and we drove to them multiple times a year for two years in order to collect data (count trees).
It was expensive and isolated work.
BUT I generally had good company, so it was a fun time.
