A sample 1 mm too high shifts an XRD peak about 0.8°. A 785 nm laser sees 12 µm into silicon, a 532 nm laser 0.7 µm.

Same file, different causes. Only the instrument settings tell them apart.

The 'ultimate peptide stack' is a marketing invention, not science. IGF-1, BPC-157, TB-500—combining them has zero human data. Stagger usage if you must, but stacking is guesswork. #LabNotes #PeptideMyths #WalkingHack

Something I haven't gotten to say in a while... new lab note today!

It's on a kind of user interface that pops up only occasionally: the extemporaneous UI that allows users to 'wave their wand' & get the interface they need through direct interaction.

Read on: alexanderobenauer.com/labnotes/041/
LN 041: Extemporaneous UIs
Tear-off menus, quantized semantic zoom, and spatial computational canvases show us one approach to frictionless malleable interfaces.

Bookkeepers kept a “waste book” as a place for notes recorded on the fly. Later they would extract selected information and copy it into the formal ledger.

Evolocumab cuts first-time heart events by 25% in high-risk patients. Free amino acids absorb faster than whole protein—but don’t increase muscle growth.

Well, I have done it! For the past month I have been keeping daily notes on my research progress and the small decisions I make as I work. I have also been posting them to my lab website

Overall I have found the process very helpful
