#Lagenophora huegelii, Western Australian Bottle-Daisy! These cute little daisies have a rosette that looks similar at first glance to some weedy specie bit once they flower there no mistaking! Their s achene fruit looks roughly like an urn or flask hence the common and scientific name!

Lagenophora, features for IDs for this genus either require Achenes or a plant to be pulled up so was not going to do that 😅 there are 2 species in the area and not sure but this could be L. huegleii as it’s very widespread 🤷🏻‍♂️ found these growing in a more forested away for the swampy shrubland

Another short adventure to look at the #alpine #flora here in #Tasmania, though it's quite late in the year! Some beautiful #flowers still going in the shadow of #CradleMountain, though. (Names in ALT) #botany #plants #nature

Ah, Lagenophora pinnatifida, which, as far as I can tell, hasn't been talked about by anyone in the past fifty years.

But who doesn't love a small flower that is an associate of the beautiful Nothofagus beech forests?

In te reo Māori, parani. The correct spelling of the scientific name, on the other hand, is debatable. The French botanist Viscount Alexandre Henri Gabrielde Cassini had first spelled the genus as...
