Explored the South Cumbrian coastal limestone recently, rewarded with 3 rare endemic species; Lancastrian Whitebeam, Small Spotted Hawkweed & Humphrey Head Hawkweed (the latter prob restricted to around 250 plants globally), also Spiked Speedwell about to burst into flower! #Botany #Hawkweeds

When I was very ill I remember squeaking at a nurse "am I gonna die?" and she responded, in a broad Lancastrian accent, "pfff, are you 'eck gonna die", and it was the most reassuring response I could've had.
Everyone's needs their worst fears quashed by a northern lady being dismissive about them.
