I'm off by 4,000 years separation between the ziggurats of Mesopotamia and the Mesoamerican stepped pyramids.
I've wondered if there was a tenuous but constant flow of knowledge across either the Atlantic or Pacific oceans, islands and landbridges.

Given Putin's love of landbridges (as from his rump faux statelet of Luhansk/Donetsk to Crimea) no one should be surprised that he has similar plans to close the Sulwaki Gap between Kaliningrad and Belarus (a de facto Russian oblast! kyivindependent.com/putin-will-w...
'Putin will wage war against NATO,' Zelensky tells NBC News
Russia is training 150,000 troops in Belarus for a large-scale operation that could happen as early as this summer, Zelensky said. "There are risks that this can be Poland and Lithuania."

And I know part of this was on purpose. Marcos Sr.'s education secretary is the one to blame for things like the "landbridges to mainland Asia" and "Maharlika Republic" pseudo history because they were trying really hard to justify Filipino Nationalism

This is so stupid. "Listen to the locals." We've given up on listening to coastal scientists, who actually know something. Landry's CPRA abandons river diversions in favor of non-contiguous "landbridges."

Louisiana wants to build a 94-mile 'landbridge' to protect the coast. Is that even possible?
It would serve to not only rebuild wetlands that have been disappearing for a century, but also slow storm surge. But there are many complications and uncertainties.

Just cool. We should notice a) these are only the fossils preserved, that doesn´t mean we know all the motion in the era and: b) the landscape was vastly different with #iceage AND landbridges. Think of the Baltic sea not even beeing flooded or www.labrujulaverde.com/en/2025/01/t... #archaelogy

What about the dinosaur landbridges?
October 29, 2025 at 6:53 AM

My ancestors survived Danish invasions, Norman invasions, Saxon invasions, Roman invasions and walking across landbridges just to get trapped on an island.

We were built for work, storms, floods, and starvation.

There are also landbridges that connect forests and other important biomes. It allows populations of animals to use corridors to connect where onterwise roads would cut them off.

They are called wildlife crossings, and we need more of them.
