That’s what you meant. Almost. Except in this case it‘s „fate“ not „destiny.“ This is my fate and this is my destiny mean two different things in English (one is the current situation, one the future). In german we use the same word. Sorry, not sorry for the nerdery. #languageisfun

A German version of “the early bird catches the worm” translates to “the morning hour has gold in its mouth.” A Czech version is “he who does not laze around, gets the greens.” But my favourite is the French “the first cow to the meadow licks up all the dew” (imo, a vache improvement on the others).

As another user of germanic language I support this. It‘s shorter than „day after tomorrow“ (even if the movie of the same name would have a less dramatic title) and if it used to be a „proper“ word anyway…. #languageisfun
