What’s amusing is that the video is also flawed in other unique ways and might irritate you just as much youtu.be/7z5TXctHcSA?...

unfortunately been exposed to languagejones. youtube needs a “dislike this timestamp” button. i’d be mashing.

trying to watch in good faith but he’s yet another prescriptive “achktualy” linguist.

the type of person to say you can’t call yourself an artist without ever making a sale.

This is about as classy of a takedown that you can do. I did not expect a book nominally about linguistics, by a guy with no academic experience, to really be about how he admits to maximizing attention to himself at any cost, including manipulating his audience youtu.be/7z5TXctHcSA

Languagejones says bro is increasingly being used as a pronoun, I assume in the US.

Since I'm not a linguist, here's the video www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcQ6...
You're all STILL WRONG about PRONOUNS

You Tube linguist LanguageJones says they/them hasn't caught on as a third person singular pronoun and "bro" is more common.

My experience in the UK is that they/them is increasingly common. I've not heard bro being used much, though that might be the social circles I move in.

What do you think?

While this "Language Jones" (actually Dr. Taylor Jones) video isn't about AI, I think it is a pretty good argument for why what we currently call "Artificial Intelligence" ISN'T intelligent at all. How does ANY computer program understand our intent?

o languagejones desmontou o livro do etymology_nerd em um vídeo de meia hora e ele respondeu num youtube short fazendo exatamente o que o jones aponta e sem responder a principal crítica da falta de fontes

Not actually by a linguist, and not actually any good, apparently.

We do have a tendency to build coherent-seeming critiques of tech on sand.

Watched LanguageJones (no relation) review of Algospeak. He really undercut any of his legitimate criticisms with several weird bad faith jibes. Insinuating that Adam thinks jews control the media makes Jones either a malicious or stupid reviewer.
