Bill Craver was a steady hitter and second sacker, though he's best remembered for his expulsion from baseball in 1877 after the Louisville Grays scandal. Here's my painting of him with the Union BBC of Lansingburgh in 1866 (ya know, a year after the American Civil War ended).

I'd been waiting for the right time to read Little, Big (having put off reading it until the author's preferred text in the long-promised Incunabula edition arrived). With John Crowley's passing and now being a bachelor for a few weeks, it seems like the right time has arrived.

ICE participated in a multiagency seatbelt checkpoint on the Cohoes/Lansingburgh Bridge earlier today. Although the Times Union reports that no one was detained or arrested, other social media accounts have stated otherwise.
Federal immigration agents caused some friction when they were asked to attend an annual seatbelt checkpoint in Cohoes on Friday, prompting state troopers and state Department of Motor Vehicle investigators to leave the multi-agency law enforcement detail.
