It’s still shocking that Levemir was discontinued. I asked my Pharmacist if any company is producing Detemir insulin and he advised not yet. It’s so sad for me because my diabetic cat Harvey has done well on it and had trouble with Lantus. I still have a few vials left and then we’ll have to switch.

*Meds vary depending on what all I get, i dont actually need my Lantus (24h stuff) cause I was able to stockpile that, its mainly the normal insulin and the cgms. Those two are 400-500 (two weeks supply) depending on the dispensing fee. Im currently raw dogging it until we can figure it out

Nope if its not covered in the Part D plan NAME EX. LANTUS ETC. thats the major issue and loop hole they dont have to cover it found that out the hard way ! You have to go with what they cover !

Currently I’m on Humalog after every time I eat/drink and 30u of Lantus at bedtime.
Honestly taking this many shots a day keeps me from eating at times :/
Sometimes I’m deadass like “I’m hungry but I do not want to shoot myself in the thigh just for half a sandwich” lmao

"Back in the day" some diabetics would inject intravenously if they didn't want to wait hours for it to kick in.
Even some modern slow/long acting analogues like Lantus will work almost instantly if they go directly into the blood, instead of the 20h or so delayed absorption.
