Na aardig wat hoogtemeters vanuit de parkeerplaats kijk je hier in de zomer uit over een groene vallei en de rivier Storskogselva. Zelden zo'n indrukwekkende panorama's gezien als hier. 🙂

A decent day with a few bits, mostly thrushes and finches, coming in throughout the day. The best being 3 Woodlark and a Lapland Bunting west while 2 Woodcock, a Siberian Chiffchaff, 9 Firecrest and 2 Hawfinch (briefly in Trapping Area before flying north) were also recorded. #kentbirding

Last few days have had a mean temperature of ~9 °C in Finland, which is unprecedented for this time of the year (since 1961).
Even in Lapland it's been between +5-10 °C for several days and nights, and it does not look good in ski resorts.

October across the wider Dungeness recording area had 6 new species for the year although felt quiet - a Black Kite and a Ring-necked Duck the standouts
Lapland Bunting, Leach’s Petrel +Hawfinch are worth a mention
The 2026 total is now on 243 which surpasses any of the last 7 years
