Yes, actually. Music is about storytelling, so the two are somewhat intertwined. I tend to make story/character playlists, and often have an idea of what the soundtrack to any given story I'm writing would be. I actually made a whole YouTube Playlist for #LastExitToMidnight. #HorrorWritersChat

Been wanting to write a book with a trans protagonist, so #LastExitToMidnight has one. Amanda is a trans woman, TJ is a cis man, and Fox is a woman but is extremely tomboyish and would probably be canonically nonbinary if she knew it were an option so I'm hesitant to call her 'cis'. 🤣

5. Thanks to bipolar Texas weather, when I was in Scouts my troop got the Chili Pepper Badge (camping in 100°+) and the Polar Bear Badge (camping in freezing weather) in the same camping trip. This experience comes up in #LastExitToMidnight.

I wanted to write a trans protagonist for #LastExitToMidnight so I did. She's misgendered/deadnamed exactly once by a cop who's more confused than vitriolic, and that encounter is based firsthand on my own experiences dealing with police when you have the wrong name on your driver's license.

I'm not even a full two chapters in yet and had to throw together a crude cover mockup lol

I wrote #Heliruna because it was a story I'd had kicking around in my head for a literal decade, but when I finished it I decided I wanted to write a story with a trans protagonist set in the American southwest about aliens. Two weeks later, I'd spat out #LastExitToMidnight.

My goal for today is to get #LastExitToMidnight to be longer than my first working draft of #TheWoods. I'm currently 2,223 words away from that milestone. Will I make it? Or will it have to wait until tomorrow. Stay tuned!
