🌊 #LeadLocalFloodAuthorities ( #LLFAs) maintain a register of #floodrisk assets under Section 21 of the #Flood & Water Management Act 2010.
A flood risk assets are “any structure or feature which, in the opinion of the authority, is likely to have a significant
effect on flood risk.”🌊

#LeadLocalFloodAuthorities are Category 1 responders and play a leading role in #emergencyplanning to help keep #communities safe, as well as supporting post flood recovery🌊
Did you know, there is no statutory duty or legal requirement for #localauthorities to supply #sandbags during #flood events

Under Section 19 of the #Flood and Water Management Act 2010, #LeadLocalFloodAuthorities (#LLFAs) carry out investigations to understand the causes and mechanisms behind flood events.

LLFAs manage #floodrisk from #surfacewater, #ordinarywatercourses, and #groundwater, as well as recording and investigating flooding incidents in their local areas.
