When María was on vacation she did not expect that she would be taken off the street and shoved into a dark van by some tall strong men who hid their faces. She knew the dangers of traveling to a foreign country where she didn't speak the language by herself as a women, yet naively she did not think anything would actually happen to her. That she was too good for anything bad to happen to her. That was all proven wrong when she was shoved out of the van, stripped of all her belongings and clothes, and put shivering onto a stage with nothing but a collar on. Even if she didn't understand the language, it didn't take long for her to realize that she was in a betting hall and that she was what was being sold. It was not long before she was apparently sold, she didn't even know the money conversion to know if she was sold high or low. She was shuffled off the stage and dragged to the back. That quickly taught her the word 'move' at least, because that is what the men kept yelling at her when she stumbled as they pulled her away. María was shoved into what she could only describe as a dog kennel, forced to stay in a tight ball on her hands and knees with her head down to actually fit. A cover was thrown over the cage and she was bathed in darkness. Sudden movement made her crash into the sides as she was handled like cargo; already María could feel the bruises forming. She must have fallen asleep, because she awoke to the cover off and the cage door actually open. A man was talking outside the cage, she could just see his expensive shoes and slacks. Her limbs where all sore and cramp but she couldn't even focus on that as an unexpected electric shock burned around her neck. She cried out and tears formed in her eyes when the terrible pain finally stopped. The man spoke again, fast and gargled to her ears, then a single clear word that she didn't know. After a moment of silence and nothing happening, María cried out as she was shocked again. When it stopped she heard the man's voice say what sounded like the same word, shouted like an order. María quickly scrambled out of he cage as fast as her limbs would allow her. She ended up sprawled on the ground, pins and needles running through her legs and arms from being cramped up for so long. María could barely get a look at the man who stood towering over her, but she breathed a sigh of release as the shock didn't come back. He didn't let her stay down long, ordering a 'move' from her that she at least recognized. It seems the shocks had different intensities as a small zap made her yelp when she apparently wasn't getting up fast enough.
