New study established an effective lectotypification for P𝘶𝘭𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘢 𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘢 var. 𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘴 (basionym of 𝘗. 𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘴).

This work corrects a 1975 typification attempt by Wilhelm Sauer.

Because willows (Salix) are dioecious and often flower before leaves emerge, historical collections sometimes combined material from different species into a single type. The issue can be resolved through lectotypification and detailed study of historical material: doi.org/10.5735/085.....
