#Left"parties
Problem: you have two left wing parties in British politics.
Solution: start a new left wing party to unify the movement

Political parties must shift immediately and dramatically to the left to avoid alienating these frustrated and abandoned young women. Am I doing this right?
Our recent poll found that women 28 and younger skew substantially more left than the national average. Nearly 80 percent of Gen Z women want abortion to be legal and seven in 10 want gender-affirming care to be accessible for trans adults.
Gen Z women are the most liberal group in the country

Move over, gender reveal parties, America's got a new craze: Was the shooter left-wing or right-wing?

Trying to explain to Americans that they HAVE NO LEFT-WING POLITICAL PARTIES

left of center parties surveying the history of trying to appease reactionaries rather fight them head on

When your neighbor on the left is being dragged away by masked men and your neighbor on the right can't get an X-ray for their child, be sure to quickly explain that "both parties are the same" and whatnot.

I liked it when Left-wing parties were antifascist.
There is always money for war, never for the poor.

Every penny spent on bombs, tanks and missiles is stolen from our homes, schools and hospitals.

We are not going to take it anymore.

according to reactionary centrists, it is a gross injustice for the left to run third parties or to run in primaries
once again, so much of discourse in America would be improved if there were multiple ballot lines

here we have chait complaining that DSA is too radical

There’s Nothing Democratic About These Socialists
The DSA was formed in opposition to the very thing it has become.

truly wild that plenty of centre-left parties would be too cowardly to use this slogan which should be entirely uncontroversial for any nominally left party (looking at you, Labour)
February 23, 2025 at 9:11 PM
Amazing. Yes, that’s definitely the message that has produced victories for centre-left parties over the last week

The Democratic Party is very good on trans issues compared to other left of center Anglosphere parties.
I want to be clear about what happened today:

While Republicans keep the Senate in session to try and pass their dangerous SAVE act, they also tried to push through a ridiculous ban on transgender athletes.

We blocked it.

i don't think we need to take "the left drove tech oligarchs to the right" seriously as an argument. all parties involved know they're either lying or being told a lie

as a committed centrist, it saddens me that both parties are falling captive to their extremes - the right to insurrectionist cultists who want to invade american cities, and the left to socialists who want better bus service

"The media continues to cover politics as if it is still the 1990s. 'Both parties are basically center-right or center-left parties.' The journalism infrastructure in our country wants to pretend that that’s the world that we live in. The instinct is to treat everything politicians say as valid."
“Neither our media nor our political system is designed to deal with a far right authoritarian party”

Politicians usually show up at the border to demonize & fear-monger.

We just drove 750 miles from El Paso to the Valley to show off the beauty & potential of our border communities.

We’re showing up for Texans along the border who've been left behind by both political parties.

Quebec independence parties in the 20th century: radical leftist

Quebec independence parties now: bitching about the radical left

also like, "neither left or right parties" are almost ALWAYS right-wing
In a very recent speech, PSP made a statement that the PQ is not a right of left party, but an indepence party. Exactly why I will never vote for them or vote for independence on those terms. You dont make a country without a clear project.

Partly because so many formerly leftwing parties have turned to the right, there's a lot of confusion about what right and left mean in politics. I hope this helps:

The right defends economic power.

The left resists economic power.

This is just not the historical moment for the NYT to be telling victorious center-left wing parties in other countries what they "need" to do.

They're taking the "tisk-tisk Democrats" treatment worldwide.

If a full accounting of Epstein’s crimes - and his accomplices - is ever made public, people on the left and the right are going to feel really dumb that we’ve been arguing with each other while the elites of both parties pal around and do abhorrent shit.

The far-right AfD cannibalized the CDU vote and finished in first position out of all parties.

But the three left-wing parties secured a comfortable majority and should be able to continue governing.

Whether it was Republicans nominating a convicted felon or Democrats nominating a woman, both parties left voters with an impossible choice in 2024.
