20 PEOPLE WALKING are killed EACH DAY in the US.

They are NOT accidents; they are INCIDENTS that could have been avoided IF city & state had wanted to. Same trend many countries, Canada, AU... others.

Yes! One attractive aspect of a place we know (i.e., a planned community (negatives: high artificiality, zero public transport options, walkable to almost 0️⃣ for everyday errands) is its sidewalks. I walk practically w/ my eyes (1 of which is compromised) shut b/c they‘re almost pristine. #LetUsWalk

Sidewalks can be most important infra in cities. It's where people meet boy/girl friends, neighbors, sellers of coffee, fruits... Sense belonging!

Having worked in over 350 cities I find that quality of sidewalks are correlated with level of civility.
