Elite level: Add them all up and create the Biological Ageing Lifecourse Determinants (BALD) index
Shall we brainstorm some alternative 'biomarkers' for aging?

How about:

* Proportion of days you wake up with random pain after no injury
* Proportion of times you make an audible sound (either joint clicks, grunts, or sighs) when standing or sitting
* Font size of your phone
I have a proposal: the number of hours it takes to recover from a hangover

They said
“from day one [of life] - children learn in the womb!”

It’s almost definitely a highlight of their lives. There’s a long running lifecourse study here following a cohort of people born in the early 70s and it’s a matter of pride that they all stay in and come back for the recall appointments, retention is in the mid 90% range which is unheard of

American evangelical fundamentalist views on the human lifecourse:
1) Embryos are saintly; God's work, and must be cared for.
2) Children are prone to the Devil's work and must be subject to harsh discipline.
3) An adults life is not worth a damn unless they say they accept Jesus.

Genome-wide analysis of social behaviour across social domains, reporters and developmental stages: a meta-regression approach
We conducted a GWA study (GWAS) meta-analysis of social behaviour by integrating 491,246 repeated measures from 73,321 individuals of European ancestry across 25 independent cohorts (effective sample size Neff = 122,239; Fig. 1, Extended Data Table 1, Supplementary Table 1 and Supplementary Note 1), embedded within the Early Genetics and Lifecourse Epidemiology (EAGLE) Consortium23. This effort resulted in 195 sets of GWAS summary statistics, for which we recorded information on social context, including social domains, informant and age (Fig. 1c and Supplementary Table 1). The majority of cohorts consisted of unrelated individuals; for family-based cohorts, relatedness was accounted for in cohort-level GWAS analyses (Methods). Social behaviour was predominantly measured with standardized instruments (Supplementary Table 2), such as the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ)4 or the Child Behaviour Checklist (CBCL)24. To harmonize measures across instruments, we aligned individual questionnaire items to categories of the World Health Organization (WHO) International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health25 (ICF; Children and Youth version), a biopsychosocial framework and classification system for describing and organizing information on human functioning and disability (Fig. 1b, Extended Data Fig. 1, Supplementary Table 3, Supplementary Note 2 and Methods). To model differences in genetic effects due to variation in social...

Q: Which issue in social epidemiology is currently of particular interest to you?

A: I am particularly interested in how caring responsibilities influence health across the lifecourse but particularly for children and young people.
