Great to see male #Green-veinedWhite mud puddling again on one of my newly dug & watered potato patches today .. that's 2nd year running & a little earlier this year. The male, according to the great Peter Eeles, pass on the nutrients to the female during mating❣️

I love the fact that the #Bugle (Ajuga reptans) possesses in part the same kind of fluffiness as the male Hairy-footed flower bee & the Common Carder bee that both visit so often now.

Maybe that's one reason why they seem so attracted to this little creeping spring flower 💙

Potatoes finally in the ground and also finally .. some approval .. I think 🙄 .. from the orange-fronted demanding one while above the crabapple bloomed quietly against a blue sky.

Another great moment on the allotment is quietly watching a 'batman' hoverfly giving its eyes a good clean & brush-up
