Staff and a neighbor urged the board to reject the current stormwater (SWPPP) submission for a property linked to Gerard, citing an outdated aerial, missing elevations/topography, unscaled diagrams, unclear spillway and sediment-basin placement, and possible fill that may trigger state permits; the board declined to accept the plan and asked for more detailed, scaled engineering documentation.

At its July 21 meeting the Limerick Select Board spent a large portion of the session on audit delays and disputed use of a tax anticipation note after the contracted auditor said he could not complete the FY2025 audit until mid next year; board members pressed staff on cash balances, land-sale revenues and rescue-billing postings.

A resident at the hearing accused town officials of intimidation, retaliation and failing to respond to FOIA requests; commenters raised related concerns about meeting scheduling, public records, and the treatment of citizens who question government actions; the board acknowledged the concerns and said staff and auditors are working to reconcile records.

Consultants and the Water & Sewer District briefed the board on the Deep Veil project and proposed a 560‑foot, 12‑inch Central Avenue extension estimated at $366,000, to be funded mainly from remaining CDBG allocations and existing town project balances; board asked staff to confirm grant eligibility and account balances before approving a contract change order.

On July 7 the Limerick Board of Selectmen held a public grievance hearing in which firefighter Steve McClain appealed his termination. Attorney Scott Dolan argued McClain was denied due process and was targeted for whistleblowing and age; Fire Chief Jared Welsh and the chief’s attorney said prior warnings, SOGs and safety concerns justified the discipline. The board said it will issue a decision within 30 working days.

At a July 15 workshop, the Limerick Planning Board agreed to add meeting minutes to the record, heard residents warn that data centers could harm the town's aquifer and wetlands, and reviewed a consultant proposal (about $7,700) to update the comprehensive plan with a six-month timeline.

At its June 30 meeting the Limerick select board spent extended time on municipal finances, questioned the treasurer's actions and the town's audit trail, engaged forensic/accounting review, approved appointment of a payroll clerk and approved several routine items including a sign purchase.

State remediation staff and Maine CDC told Limerick residents on June 30 that sampling found chlorinated solvents (PCE and TCE) near the former Central Avenue landfill; the department installed whole-house carbon filters and sub‑slab depressurization systems in affected homes and will monitor systems quarterly through 2026.
