There’s something oddly satisfying about seeing new software appear for computers that are decades old. Long after the commercial spotlight has moved on,

I’ve recently updated the LinCity-NG flatpak to runtime 25.08 and enabled the pipewire socket since SDL now properly uses it out-of-box if possible. However, I’ve noticed that adding this permission caused the application to get marked as “Potentially unsafe” due to having “Screen contents access”. Since it’s not something you’d expect a game to request a permission for (and something it doesn’t utilize in practice), I think it might end up alarming end users. Is there a good way to request permissions to only allow audio playback via pipewire? Or should I consider revoking the pipewire permission and sticking with just the pulseaudio socket - which still shows a warning for microphone access, but considers that a “Probably safe” permission?
