Peor aún: el lipedema es realmente una enfermedad, las personas que la sufren (casi siempre mujeres) no sólo tienen un problema estético, y además les duele. Así que querer convencernos de que todas tenemos lipedema, aparte de una mentira, es un menosprecio y un insulto a las mujeres que lo sufren.

Went to a custom orthotics appointment to get measurements for compression garments (for lipedema but also for POTS) and learned that Medicare doesn’t cover compression for lipedema, only lymphedema, so now I have to just go purchase non-custom garments out of my own pocket. 🙃

I’ve talked a bit about having lipedema on here (a connective tissue disorder that causes a buildup of fat that can’t be burned by diet and exercise and has to be surgically removed).
I’m 7 days post-op #1 of 3 surgeries - nearly 5L removed. I’m still very swollen but I have actual calf definition!
