One of the people in my lipodystrophy group has Acquired Partial Lipodystrophy, which is even rarer than the rest of us lipo folk, and it came after a bout of COVID.
All their fat cells are now destructing because of a virus, and no fat cells = no energy.
People can't keep playing around.

Seriously brings tears to my eyes. I’ve seen lipodystrophy in pts treated with protease inhibitors. I rejoiced at three drug daily treatment regimes. I was astounded at treatments that reduced viral load to levels that can’t be transmitted. And here we are. Yes, hate.

Yes you can die from Long COVID! I’m dying from a metobolic disorder called lipodystrophy - the extreme loss of subcutaneous fat. Also, have gastroparesis and I’m unable to hold onto fluids and stomach doesn’t work or uptake nutrients! You kind of need these to work to live! 🧐

Listening to stories of other lipodystrophy patients and now I not only feel like trash because I am ugly and sick from the lipodystrophy, but ALSO because all these other patients have had it so much worse. Like I've only been on death's door a few times compared to some of these folks. Fuck.
And I know this is both C-PTSD & dysmorphia from the lipodystrophy running the show, but when everyone you've trusted to let see your imperfections has violently, deliberately harmed you as they left...you can't unlearn that. You can't. My body is nothing but a tomb housing the spectres of abuse.
