Thanks to Emma Cole for the mention in her LitHub essay on Hitchcock. You should check the article out here: bit.ly/4swk1QP

Do we know someone at LA REVIEW OF BOOKS, Bookriot, Lithub or Electric Literature?

My friend, a wonderful Pakistan-based writer-journalist, is looking to pitch essays with those websites and a personal connection would be really appreciated

I just got an email from lithub trying to talk me into this and i am annoyed.
So, wait, has NaNoWriMo rebranded as "Novel November", paid for by ProWritingAid, which used to be a spell/grammar checker but now is (you guessed it) an "'AI' grammar checker"--in short, yet another way for a griftslop machine to grab human-written text?

Do I have that right?

Based Jennifer Welch and Lithub for platforming this truth. More people should be holding the Dems accountable for how much their fault all this is.

LitHub, what the fuck is this bullshit?
October 27, 2026 at 11:47 AM
Personally I would simply not take an organization called "lithub" seriously on matters of political science and law.

"Cardboard knife to a gun fight" is offensive to the writing sensibilities of all lithub readers, what are you doing

Book 91 of 2026. Very descriptive and gross at times, but losts of symbolism, but the plot was lacking. Readers get dropped in and barely anything gets explained, so a lot will dnf in the first quarter. Read Spread Me instead.

Oh also, sometimes I look at sites like BookRiot, LitHub, Reactor, etc, and also I look through Autostraddle's regular lists of forthcoming queer books.

And I also browse through books in person in both bookstores and libraries, but that's probably less helpful.

So many actual shitlibs crashing out at this LitHub article, and yet I still don’t think it goes far enough.

I know I’ve already posted the following CrimethInc article multiple times now, but it bears repeating: crimethinc.com/2024/11/06/h...

Thought I'd read that lithub article everyone is talking about (what an awful site, constant popup ads) and the gist seems to be good (democrats enabled fascism by occupying the resistance spot and doing nothing) but the article itself is eh.

Jennifer Welch is a goddess for putting out that piece on Lithub. It annoyed all the worst people oh my god lol.

Kinda incredible how they've completely reverted to 2024 or something too.

People can be, yes. Are you able to share the article from Lithub that talks about how Republicans brought us to fascism? I searched their feed and found nothing.

This is a weird thing for LitHub to publish, whatever its faults.

a LOT of geniuses are missing that lithub biden thing is an excerpt from a book

AND YA'LL JUST YELLED AT JENNIFER WELCH'S EXTREMELY CORRECT LITHUB ARTICLE. Harris is already sewing the seeds of non-opposition here. She woulda been a terrible president who was just as if not mediocre as Biden and nothing would get done and this is a lot of shitlibs current fave
Kamala Harris: I think that going in the direction of impeachment is not a good idea.

I was in the Senate for the last go-round, and the votes aren’t there.

I think after the election, we all have to just also agree that our attitude has to be to get stuff done…

This is also a point that did not get raised in the LitHub piece but needs to be considered, which is that the speed and vigor of a prosecution communicates its “seriousness” to the public. By not pushing it that hard Democratic messaging about what a threat Trump was fell flat.
October 27, 2026 at 11:41 PM
This includes: a veteran calling her "a rat fucking bimbo", someone complaining Lithub didn't publish their book review, a PhD username military historian doing Ukraine patreon pieces who's upset at "The White Lady Ponytail Pundits" and is gonna block anyone putting LH on their timeline from now on😭
