This is important for so many reasons.
Greater #inequality goes with higher crime, poorer population health, less stable economies, less efficient government, and more.

Since 1990, the top .1% of households have had the biggest increase in their share of wealth

To make it into the top .1%, you must have at least $38M

The biggest decline has been in the 50 - 90% bracket - the middle class

'"As a historian of the world, I think this is the most dangerous moment in world history since the end of World War II in 1945," warns Professor Fawaz A. Gerges of the London School of Economics and Political Science ( @londonschoolofeconomics).'

There is research on this showing that stable societies with greater equality have stronger more resilient economies, lower crime, more efficient govt and a host of other benefits.

El libro de Minouche Shafik ha sido y está siendo leído con gran aprecio por muchas personas influyentes en los ámbitos de la decisión política y de la intervención social. Aquí mi crítica.

They should know that.
Decades of research PROVE that economies are more stable and productive under policies that emphasize equality.

Why it matters?

Places with greater #inequality have:
-less stable economies
-less efficient govt
-more crime
-poorer pop’n health
-and more.

Fond memories of these archives. Spent many months in them during my PhD research. The staff were unfailingly helpful to a clueless newbie, as I was.

The #FabianSociety was founded on #ThisDayInHistory in 1884. Originally a #DemocraticSocialist group, it has shifted to #SocialDemocracy and remains affiliated with the centrist #LabourParty. One of its more important achievements was forming the #LondonSchoolOfEconomics in 1895.

Every state should do this.

Hell, the US should do this.

Imagine having BILLIONS and not wanting your cook, your nanny, your gardener, the server at your favourite restaurant, not able to have a decent home and nutritious food for their family.
