Whilst the Longmorn offered elderflower, honey & a perfumed note on both nose & palate, this is an entirely different beast. The PX casks have worked their magic with milk chocolate, raspberries & roasted nuts on the nose. The chocolate continues on the palate with oak spice, cherries & black pepper

My 1st time trying Longmorn & it's a fruit-filled delight! The nose offers buckets of elderflower & vanilla plus a myriad of overripe fruit (pineapple, banana, pear & honeydew melon) Cask strength at just 43.5% it still delivers on the palate - oily, effervescent & that same big, bold fruit salad 🍍

Met a guy who worked there last week and couldn't remember which bottle I had. So I took a look and it turns out it was 3 🤣 Oh well! I'm now sitting down with their very pleasant Longmorn in the afternoon sun. I might even get to one of the others. #whisky

Work begins on new Speyside Bistro at Coleburn Distillery site
The owners of the historic Coleburn Distillery have broken ground this month with plans for first phase of Whisky Resort at Coleburn granted. Moray Council has approved plans for an on-site bistro at Coleburn Distillery in Longmorn, Elgin, marking a significant milestone in the site’s wider master plan to create a world-class whisky and hospitality resort, anticipated to be the first of its kind globally. With an opening targeted for late autumn this year, The Kitchery at Coleburn will be housed within the former Piggery building. Once used for livestock, the structure is being thoughtfully reimagined as a contemporary bistro showcasing food and drink rooted in locally sourced Scottish produce.

Now if you want a really good balanced "scotch" made in the US, I heavily recommend Balcones single malt. One of my favorites, period.

The dregs of a couple of SMWS Samples . A 33yo Glen Moray (35.304 , 53.1% ) and a 14 yo Longmorn ( 7.266 , 56.3% ) . The GM is as smooth as a baby's bum and very tasty , The Longmorn is..... a Longmorn ! Fruity !!!
