Data modeling and its languages are dear to my heart. Having learned MDX the hard way, everyone knows who learned it. Today, DAX, LookML, full-blown languages such as Morel or Malloy are here to use too. And there are related languages and alternatives, too.

I spent like an actual hour and a half scanning through SQL and LookML yesterday trying to find a single typo and I feel this in my very core 🫠

Compatible with definitions from Cube, MetricFlow (dbt), LookML (Looker), Hex, Rill, Superset, Omni & there's a native definition format.

And they won’t be able to fix it when (not if) it breaks, because they don’t understand whatever passes for logic with ChatGPT! I am a complete newbie especially with LookML and I am literally learning by reading my predecessor’s code

Yes that seems right. Other tools could have used LookML, but it was still mostly used for their BI.
AtScale was big deployment targeted at enterprise buyers. They're probably the industry leader with insurgents being GoodData and Cube. I never hear positive things about dbt sl, but that's me.
