My voxelizer is working! 128^3 voxels < ~150us. 256^3 around < ~800us (on my M1Pro)
Ironically, visualising the voxels is heavier than the voxelizer itself...

the 8-bit quant runs, if a bit slowly, on an m1pro 16gb using about 6.27gb of ram
just running an openai-compat chat completion server into polytoken with it it seems to have issues with tool calling & thus is getting stuck in a loop but is otherwise seemingly working?

these things are so snappy, this is barely any slower than on my m1pro mbp despite the cores being maybe %40 of the strength of an m1 core. would have expected the disk to be much slower too, due to the sd card speeds being way lower, but it's about the same

Update on my M1 MacBook Air after 4 years:
- Construction, CPU, touchpad - great.
- GPU - OK for Minecraft, terrible for pytorch ( my work M1Pro LightGlue+MPS is faster than CPU, personal M1+mps is slower than CPU). But I don't like Pro extra eight.
- 256 Gb SSD was a mistake.

Update on my M1 MacBook Air after 4 years:

What work do you do? Honest - my work mac is an m1pro and I guess it’s about 4-5 years old. I’m sure if I had a new one I’d be blown away but really the m1 feels fine to me

というわけで、今朝のおはツインテ
実は昨日はiPadの移行をやっていてました。やはり256GBだとキツくなってしまったので売ろうとしていたM1Proに戻しました（元はM2Air）。移行はほぼ半日（ほっとくだけですが）、途中でiPadOSが26に強制移行かかったりとで（気に入らないので18のままにしていた）と散々でしたがなんとか移行完了して描いてます。（細かいアプリ設定がいくつか）あんま変わんないですが
Xとのマルチポストです。
