At the moment the imperial core isn’t even “the United States” or “DC” but something like “the Mar-a-Lago Majlis”
Something I’ve been kicking around is that the casual dichotomy between Global North and Global South really doesn’t account for Europe being informed they’re a semi-periphery

I am excited to get to sort of break the traditional gender norms of majlis culture in our next card illustration for The Arab League of Misfits. I always saw majlis banter energy like a high school gossip movie scene.

there is definitely a vignette in an "average day in the Majlis-Knesset" circa 1954 that starts with Ben-Gurion breaking a chair over Begin's head on the floor of the national legislature before the guard use tear gas to break up the fight (not an unusual occurrence)
