What an amazing session of "Littoral Commander: Indo-Pacific" with #Marines at MARFORPAC. The PLA Navy seized an early lead, but the US Marine Corps & Navy surged back with some devastating cyber attacks and fires coordination. I am looking forward to the next session! 💥 💥 💥 #wargaming

This is really good for two reasons
- it honestly addresses active defense math in the FIC
- it stays focused on the SIF and doesn't venture off into, eg, HAS discourse. What the MARFORPAC SIF needs is (marginally) different from what the USARPAC MDTF needs is different again from what PACAF needs

So ACSC is great. I saw them multiple times in the fleet — they made a point of visiting MARFORPAC specifically — whereas Marine Corps University was AWOL. The only fleet visit I saw they only met with our CO.

I can't speak for what the MLRs and MDTFs will actually do, but at the service component level I expect USARPAC and MARFORPAC to spend a lot of time drinking mai tais at Duke's while watching news about the PLA's failure to sustain all their forces ashore and being like "oh well, sucks to suck."

When I was posted to MARFORPAC, I saw my fair share of retirement ceremonies. Most were big to dos with all the pomp and circumstance, but the most memorable was a COL who very much wanted to slip away after a 30 year career unnoticed. He simply wanted to lead morning colors.
