Strawberry GraphQL 0.327.0 has been released!

This release fixes a potential unbounded memory growth in the ParserCache and
ValidationCache extensions.

Both extensions previously defaulted to maxsize=None, which creates an
unbounded functools.lru_cache. On a network-exposed endpoint with one...

Friday brings #Python

`lru_cache` keys on function args—on methods that includes `self`, so the cache can keep objects alive.

Use `maxsize` to cap growth, but note it only limits entries; it doesn’t free objects immediately.

maxsize for video blobs is in the lexicon: pdsls.dev/at://did:plc...

There is also a separate blob size limit many PDSs set, which was typically 100mb a while back and wasn't made visible anywhere.

Just published Reselect 5.3.0. Added a `maxSize` option for `weakMapMemoize`, did some memoization perf optimizations, added a cache size dev check, and removed the dead `unstable_autoTrackMemoize` implementation. Also updated the docs!

LRU cache speeds up pure functions but quietly leaks memory when arguments are unbounded. Strings and numbers key fine, but mutable arguments raise errors and every unique call stays in memory forever. Set maxsize and call cache clear on long lived services. #Python #Caching #Programming

Earth Engine - Exporting image after object based methods/analysis
I performed object-based methods to calculate a mean (zonal statistics) for connected pixels adapted from this guide: https://developers.google.com/earth-engine/guides/image_objects#label_objects Here is a sample of the code I used the get that final layer: var objectBased = changeLayer.select([0], ['change']) var objectId = objectBased.connectedComponents({ connectedness: ee.Kernel.plus(2), maxSize: 1024}); Map.addLayer(objectId.randomVisualizer(), null, 'Objects', false); test = changeLayerClass.addBands(objectId.select('labels')); var meanClass = test.reduceConnectedComponents({ reducer: ee.Reducer.mean(), labelBand: 'labels', maxSize: 1024 }); Map.addLayer(meanClass, {min:3, max:5, palette:['red', 'yellow']}, 'Mean Class', false) var disturbanceType = meanClass.select(0).gte(4) Map.addLayer(disturbanceType, {palette:['red', 'yellow']}, 'disturbance') Export.image.toAsset({ image: disturbanceType, description: 'objectBasedDisturbanceType', scale: 10, region: geometry, maxPixels:300000000 }); I don't encounter a problem when running the analysis, but when I export the end image. The objects that are large are not exported as the other smaller objects. Result of the object-based analysis Result when visualizing the exported image How I can fix this issue?

Woke up with a random brain wave and had to check if I was right.

My Saturday morning. 😄

Tiny Home Assistant PR: less wasted work in a hot template rendering path.

Benchmark on my machine: about 51% faster. 🚀

Nice way to start the weekend. 🍻

Proposed change The result of a template render is coerced into a Python value via ast.literal_eval, memoized with @lru_cache(maxsize=EVAL_CACHE_SIZE) in _cached_parse_result. However, lru_cache o...

CVE-2026-9149 - Libsolv: heap buffer overflow in libsolv repo_add_solv via negative maxsize from crafted .solv file
A flaw was found in libsolv. This heap buffer overflow vulnerability occurs when a victim processes a specially crafted `.solv` file containing negative size values in the `repo_add_solv` function. This leads to an undersized memory allocation and a subsequent out-of-bounds write. An attacker could exploit this to cause a denial …

Python Tip #113 (of 365):

Instead of "@functools.lru_cache(maxsize=None)" use "@functools.cache".

Both will "memoize" a function, caching all arguments passed in.

lru_cache is great when you want a maximum cache size... but functools.cache is easier for unlimited caches.

Did you mean to update this thing too, or is it an unaffiliated account that I'm getting confused by?

It's "image":{"type":"blob","accept":["image/*"],"maxSize":1000000} for me.

Question for the Python Touchers. If lru_cache was set to maxsize=1 on something, but it dealt with 83 subclasses, if I set it to like, 128, will I blow anything up?
