A photo of one part of Chromosaturation MFAH, a site-specific immersive light installation created by the pioneering Venezuelan kinetic artist Carlos Cruz-Diez for the underground tunnels filled with modern art under the Kinder Museum, part of the larger Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH). Via Google & the museum: "The artist's goal was to isolate color in its purest state as an active, physical event taking place in space without the need for form or a canvas. It is designed to act directly on the viewer's retina, triggering a deep psychological and physical reaction as the human brain struggles to process the intense, monochromatic chambers." By walking through the monochromatic red, green, and blue chambers, viewers experience color directly through their retinas, changing how their eyes and brain perceive reality with every step. Because the installation keeps changing & rotating colours, it becomes almost like a living, transforming art work. Visually, this image shows a futuristic indoor tunnel with a curved, arched ceiling. The left side is bathed in vibrant red and orange light, while the right side glows in bright neon green. The smooth, glossy floor reflects these intense colors, creating a striking contrast down the middle.

The Museum of Fine Arts Houston has announced its acquisition of Tamara de Lempicka's 1923 painting "Her Sadness"! Until this year, the work had remained in the same family for 90 years.
A long, narrow painting of an unsmiling, white-skinned woman with straight red hair (cut off at about ear length) wearing dark clothing and a tan winter scarf, against an outdoor background with a leafless tree, and a tumble of buildings. She stands sideways such that the viewer sees one hand almost entirely within the pocket of the woman's skirt or pants. She turns toward the viewer so as to offer a 3/4 view of her face.

The vertical glass cylinders ascend diagonally from the lower left toward the upper right against a bright sky, creating a rhythmic pattern of light, deep shadow, and distorted reflections. The architectural composition highlights the contrast between the highly reflective, luminous surfaces of the glass and the stark, dark shadows cast within the building's structural recesses. The building was designed by Steven Holl Architects who chose this distinct structural skin to serve as a core environmental and sustainability mechanism for the entire building. They act as a cooling jacket, preventing solar heat from directly hitting the building's main mass and reducing total solar heat gain by roughly 70%.
