#MIDWEST AVIATION
2/2

Beyond aviation, incredibly reckless and dangerous

Hurricane warnings now so much more precise. Saved countless lives. Same for tornados, dangerous heat and cold, localized downpours leading to floods—deep South, midwest, Calif. Santa Ana winds-> fire risk.

Blinding ourselves, for NO REASON

Time to ignore politics and post a cool flying photo over the Midwest

We’re an aviation family, but taking an actual road trip this weekend for a college parent’s thing for my youngest. Yes we could’ve easily flown… do it all the time. But wanting to spend some time together taking in the changing season before Siberia hits the Midwest. 🍁☃️

I wondered why the MidWinter Secret Santa feed had so much aviation content!!
Happy National Aviation Day! As proud members of Wichita’s rich legacy, we’re honored to support the aviation companies and people who keep the Air Capital of the World soaring. Thank you to our amazing clients for trusting us to be part of your journey—we’re grateful to fly alongside you! #MWSS

When Spurr last erupted in 1992, volcanic ash & gas clouds (a potential aviation hazard) drifted south over the Pacific NW & Upper Midwest. A fully functional USGS & NOAA is needed to monitor such events & mitigate their impacts. NASA/NOAA satellite data also critical for tracking volcanic clouds.

It simply never gets “old”. Such beauty and peace.

The gift of flight is so precious 🙏

Captured somewhere over the US Midwest heading back to the nest at CYBW in our PA-46.

It's not just San Francisco. I visited Nebraska briefly this week for a family event and got this text before my flight. And aviation aside, the Midwest is getting worse weather forecasts in general due to reduced NWS balloon launches.

If we electrify cars, Iowa will have an agricultural land over supply crisis. If producing bio kerosene is a plausible but land intensive substitute for aviation fuel we’ve got the perfect place in the USA Midwest for it.

Fbohotties.com, in its heyday, would drive untold millions in fuel sales to transient aircraft who would come just to lecherously oogle the staff at an airport.

And that FBO that hired only attractive women in the midwest? Flowers aviation or something? That was a thing.
Christ, Hot or Not was just stunningly psychologically corrosive. (It was a website where you'd upload your photo and random strangers would tell you if they thought you were ugly or not, and a lot of teenagers felt compelled to use it).

Runways in Canada, Minnesota, the Northeast, the Midwest, etc, etc. are icy for months every year. How often do planes flip upside-down on them? Agree about the private plane issue being exaggerated, but it is some serious denial to act like commercial aviation of the past few weeks is 'normal.'

#OTD #Aviation #NavalHistory 🗃️ news (1925) - The US Airship Shenandoah destroyed by intense wind storm over the midwest. 14 crew are killed in the breakup and crash, including the captain. Responders rush to the scene by air from several bases in the east.

Wichita, where the Great Plains meet urban charm.
Explore the Keeper of the Plains, savor BBQ, stroll along the Arkansas River, or paddle a canoe.
A cool city of music, culture and unexpected beauty.
A city of aviation, arts and genuine Midwest warmth, all wrapped up in one.

One last photo from Sylvania airport today. I love that you can just pull up and park along the road and you're RIGHT there along the runway, no fencing or obstructions. It's fun to just pull up and watch.

No, Air Wisconsin was a regional airline that did code shares with American (and earlier United) in the Midwest. But it folded late last year and then much of the fleet, labor contracts & the branding was purchased by CSI Aviation.

CSI is the prime contractor for ICE Air.

There is a moderate risk for severe weather today in the upper midwest 🇺🇸

But that ain't stopping any of the multiple long tracked business aviation test flights.
