it's genuinely hilarious how Rod is genuinely in the mindspace where like, Pride flags are as evil as like, a 20th century style right-wing police state

It's so wild man. There are probably like... a thousand professional video game journalists? It's like a regional fast food chain's worth of people taking up this mindspace.

Respectfully, and speaking as someone who for years did one good whack before blocking, no you don't. That's mindspace they've taken from you, and attention you've given to them, and both of those are seen from others, none of whom benefit. Consign the trolls to the cornfield the second they appear.
Sometimes you just get bored, though, and you gotta play with the troll for 5 seconds…
(It’s one of those “it’s funny because it’s true” observations)
[As per the above, I will usually give it one good faith reply. Then it’s capping at the knees time.]

Here’s how to put yourself in the mindspace of these people: imagine you don’t lik or follow sports but there’s a strong stigma against this, so when you get polled about the best team in the league you say something like “I think LeBron’s steroid scandal is really bad for the Mets”
I read a lot of these people’s stupid answers as ‘I don’t know about politics and I don’t really care to, but I feel a little guilty about that, so here’s an answer based on some shit I half remember’

no matter how much you detest the current administration -- and I do! plenty! -- it is really hard to try and inhabit the mindspace of someone who talks about things in this way.
like, what are you doing

most people don’t understand the parties by their policies as much as a word cloud of associations. “freedom,” “patriot,” “flag” all floating in peoples’ mindspace when they think of the GOP. now all of those words are fading and being replaced with “Trump”

You don’t have to watch the State of the Union. Make the choice. Do something enriching. If it happens you’ll know from the joyous music erupting all around you. This fuckin guy takes enough of your mindspace. Take some back.
