전자음악 밴드 이디오테잎이 네 번째 정규 앨범의 사운드를 라이브 무대로 옮기는 단독 공연을 준비했다. 새 앨범 ‘SUBHUMAN’ 발매를 계기로 마련된 이번 무대에서 그간 쌓아온 전자음악 퍼포먼스를 한 번에 조망할 수 있는 자리가 열린다.
공연은 11월 14일 서울 무신사 개러지에서 진행된다. 이디오테잎은 네 번째 정규 앨범 ‘SUBHUMAN’의 수록곡을 중심에 두고 기존 대표곡까지 함께 엮어 세트리스트를 짜고, 밴드가 걸어온 음악 여정을 시간축처럼 이어가겠다는 구상이다.
무대 구성은 새 앨범의 방향을 드러내는 데 초점이 맞춰졌다. 신디사이저를 앞세운 특유의 전자 사운드에 폭발적인 드럼 연주를 더해, 스튜디오에서 완성한 음원을 입체적인 현장 사운드로 바꾸는 데 공을 들이고 있다. 정교한 프로덕션으로 쌓은 소리를 공간 전체로 확장해 관객이 체감하게 하겠다는 흐름이다.
새 앨범의 트랙들은 음반과 공연을 오가며 다른 얼굴을 갖도록 설계됐다. 앨범에서 구축한 사운드와 구조를 공연장 환경에 맞게 다시 짜면서, 음원에서는 들리지 않던 질감과 전개를 무대에서 드러낼 예정이다. 전자음악 특유의 치밀한 구성에 밴드 연주의 생동감이 겹치며 이디오테잎 특유의 강한 체험형 공연이 완성되는 방식이다.
이번 단독 공연은 이디오테잎이 데뷔 후 16년 동안 쌓아온 고유한 색채를 되짚는 자리이기도 하다. 그동안 여러 페스티벌 무대에서 축적해 온 에너지를 하나의 공연으로 모으고, 네 번째 정규 앨범을 기점으로 어떤 방향으로 나아가는지를 함께 보여주는 지점에 놓인다. 오랜 팬과 처음 이디오테잎을 접하는 관객이 같은 공간에서 호흡하도록 구성했다는 점도 눈에 띈다.
이디오테잎은 DGURU와 ZEZE의 신디사이저, DR의 드럼으로 라인업을 이룬 전자음악 밴드다. 세 명의 연주를 기반으로 독창적인 전자 사운드를 구축해 왔고, 국내외 무대를 오가며 라이브 중심 활동을 이어오고 있다.
최근 성과도 공연의 배경으로 작용하고 있다. 지난 6월 국립현대미술관에서 열린 ‘2026 MMCA 나잇: 밤의 주파수’ 무대 이후 이디오테잎을 향한 해외 관심이 뚜렷하게 늘었다. 당시 현장을 찾은 인플루언서가 촬영한 숏폼 영상이 조회수 1,000만 회를 넘겼고, 이디오테잎 공식 SNS 계정 팔로워 수가 10배 이상 증가하면서 글로벌 음악 팬들의 유입이 이어졌다.
