I couldn't believe it! There are HUGE gorgeous moths here and sometimes they sleep in my flower boxes but it's been a while. This one is just GORGEOUS coloring. incredible.

Once, the trees purpled in fall and their leaves became moths that hibernated in roof thatch for winter. Rain fell sweet as sugar, though of course there are some who drank too deep and slumber still. What do you miss from the year the Fae Queen wandered our realm?

I had that where I trap at the back of my house - soon realised the nest was directly above under the eaves, so moved the trap to the end of the house. Max. wasps since, 3.
Oddly, if I hang the actinic bulb inside the window 3 metres to the right of the nest it attracts plenty of moths, few wasps!

luckily we’ve never had one inside in 6 years, and haven’t had a scorpion since we added mesh to a vent. i don’t think there’s a way something big can get in

I'd practically given up trapping really anyway as we have so much light pollution where we are. Hardly ever get decent number of moths. I find it too knackering to stay up late or get up early now. Have switched my interest to other beasties instead! But I do like to run trap every now and then.

Lovely moths (never had a Large Ranunculus so I am just putting it out there so one comes tomorrow! ) and lovely photos of them too.

Got to work at The Art of Living retreat center one summer landscaping between salamander surveys. Very beautiful place at the edge of relatively untouched wilderness...

The joy of Wrens! My favourite bird, even though they gobble up a lot of inverts in my garden! Have spotted them snaffling up harvestmen all too often... it will definitely be after your moths I'm afraid.

Plenty of rain but with an Easterly wind and it was mild last night it was worth a go with two traps in Littlestone garden, SE Kent
Two moths not on my radar a fresh Toadflax Brocade (first in months) and a Blair’s Shoulder Knot….(autumn is racing ahead, usually get them in Oct/Nov)

Our apples have been rubbish. The tree shed loads during the hot weather. The remainder all have extensive codling moth damage. I'm loth to kill the moths (why don't loth and moth rhyme?) but might have to take some action.
