Forgetting any merits of the issues, is this how MPs should behave? Is this grownup politics?

Stumbled across this while updating a lecture: from the HoC Library, a spreadsheet of MPs who have family members who are also current or past MPs. The most “connected” sitting MPs are Hilary Benn and Geoffrey Clifton-Brown with 4 MP relatives. commonslibrary.parliament.uk/research-bri...

Tonia and Kirsteen are LABOUR MPs, Tonia seen here swapping pleasantries with Sharron Davies who is always on the unhinged side of any culture war posting frenzy
It would IMO be better if MPs had not utterly deranged their own brains on Twitter dot com, wildly radicalising themselves and each other.

The Quran was used by 14 MPs in 2024, and by Sagal Abdi-Wali this week, while 338 MPs swore on a bible, 3 including Rishi Sunak on the Bhagavad Gita, the Hindu holy book, while at least 249 MPs chose to affirm, without using a religious text, according to research in 2024 by the Humanists

I think we should ban Labour MPs from hospital wards cause it really distresses me to share a space with them, how am i gonna explain to my nan or my child that soulless husks walk among us

Reform again? Why?? They have 8 MPs but get so much airtime. Why not have more LibDems? They have 72 MPs.

Andy Saltzman on the News Quiz demeaning the LDs (72 MPs) as having no hope of power while Reform (8 MPs, mostly Tory failures) is promoted as the next government.

A report based on an anonymous source, without independent evidence, claims Ukrainian MPs must leave Kyiv by 17 October.

Russian propagandists amplified it. Ukraine’s parliamentary representatives denied the claim.

Most Canadian MPs and government agencies are still using X.
On X, users have circulated nonconsenual AI videos created by Grok of a woman they think is Jane Doe. They continue to spread her name.

People have praised X for staying relevant for AI and tech conversation. But it also is the main vector for a doxing.

That is X.

When a Social Media Mob Came for Cornell’s Jane Doe
After a former student named seven men in a lawsuit saying they had sexually assaulted her, a movement gained steam online to reveal her identity.

a thing to remember about british MPs is many of them love to drink and post, and it is often very obvious when they do

Sunak was among 3 MPs who swore on the Bhagavad Gita.

Sikh MPs swear on the Guru Granth Sahib

Jewish MPs swear on the Torah or Hebrew Bible.

Atheists & other non-religious MPs can make a solemn affirmation without a religious text, as Starmer did in 2024.

What does Goodwin think about that?
Don't hide behind your followers Matt. Tell us what YOU think about it

Trans people are, whether Labour MPs like to acknowledge it or not, actual human people who will sometimes be sick or injured and need medical care.
October 16, 2026 at 8:25 AM
200 columnists, MPs, and an unhinged Mould Lady just decided one day to get weird about trans people and they can just rack up a body count, it's absolutely sick
October 15, 2026 at 4:47 PM
Sorry it’s just intolerable that Labour MPs can now get away with quite literally posting that trans people make them uncomfortable *because they are trans* and our expectations are so lowered that we just don’t expect any action to be taken at all.

I'm sorry but I don't need to see how much labor MPs hate me. I can't fix this. You can't fix this by showing it to me.
October 17, 2026 at 10:22 AM
Thanks to the 111K people who signed the govt petition earlier this year about UK applying to join the EU.

And to the ~30K people who wrote to their MPs over the last few weeks to ask them to attend.

It was a fantastic Westminster debate - respect to all the MPs who spoke. 👏

Hey. Labour MPs. And other MPs, too.

Are you on your way to the Commons for the Courts and Tribunals Bill?

Grab a coffee. Come over here. And pay attention. 👇🏼
